World Logic Day has only been established very recently. At the 40th General Conference of UNESCO in 2019, the new special day in support of the development of logic through teaching and research was proclaimed to fall on 14th January every year.
It's celebrated globally and the date was chosen as it marks the death of Kurt Gödel and Alfred Tarski, who were both prominent logicians in the twentieth century. World Logic Day raises awareness of science, technology, innovation, and the organizations and institutions that provide support within these areas.
Particularly in the twenty-first century, logic is very much tied to technology. Computer science as well as information and communications technology are all based on logical and algorithmic reasoning.
This can be your incentive to learn more and gain more knowledge about how the tech you use every day works. On World Logic Day many universities and organizations organize talks and lectures you could join to expand your horizons.
